After many years living abroad, Ghiaccio Fragile allowed me to reconnect deeply with the Italian landscape while confronting the realities of climate change, from glacial retreat to its impacts on energy and agriculture. Its immersive, “crampons-on” approach—learning by moving through the landscape itself—made the experience especially powerful. It strengthened my long-standing dream of bringing my American students onto a glacier to experience both its beauty and its fragility firsthand
